The story behind Practical And Musical French
After learning a lot about myself over my two years as an au pair in the UK and Spain, I continued my studies in international business trade and marketing.
I was employed in Barcelona and Paris as a trilingual sales administrative assistant. I then got the chance to switch careers and work as a career development consultant in Bordeaux. I assisted businesses with hiring needs and aid individuals (mostly foreigners) to find long-term work. I have had some amazing experiences in my profession, but after a few years of experience, it was no longer fulfilling. I often felt like I could not accomplish my objectives. It is a common observation that in order to obtain employment, you must be able to communicate, read, and write at least somewhat in the language of the country you reside in. I felt that teaching French to foreigners was more pertinent.
Then came the Corona virus pandemic, which gave me time to think and take action. In 2022, I obtained the DAEFLE (university diploma in teaching French as a Foreign Language). In 2023, after a few months as a volunteer FFL teacher, I gave face-to-face lessons in a language school and later in an adult training center.
Today, I am launching online courses in practical French specialising in social and professional inclusion in France, as well as French through songs. They are aimed at current and future English speaking expatriates who want to learn French to practise it daily (learning through real-life situations and songs) so that they can make the most of their new/future life in France.
I put so much in creating practicalandmusicalfrench.com and I am incredibly pleased to be starting this new journey.
I hope to see you soon !
